WhisperLite is a private messaging app. You may use it for lawful, personal communication. You must be old enough to use online services in your country (at least 13).
Messages, photos, files, voice messages and calls are end-to-end encrypted on your phone. Our servers only store scrambled data they cannot read. We don't ask for your phone number or email. We see limited technical data needed to run the service, such as anonymous session IDs, times and data sizes. If you turn on active status or seen status, people in your chats can see when you're online or have read their messages.
You own what you send. You're responsible for it and for who you share invite links with: anyone with an invite link can join that chat.
Photos, files and voice messages are stored on our servers in encrypted form only so the people in your chat can download them. On the free plan they are kept for 30 days after sending; with Premium they are kept for 1 year. After that they are deleted automatically and show as "No longer available". Anything you have already opened stays saved on your own phone. Text messages are not affected.
Premium features are optional. Trials and subscriptions may be cancelled at any time. Prices and features may change with notice.
WhisperLite is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it secure and available, but we can't promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses from using the app.

Blocking hides someone's messages and calls on your phone. They aren't told.
New messages in this chat delete themselves for everyone after the time you choose.

The app itself is stored on your phone, so opening it costs nothing. Chats and media you've seen are saved on your phone (still encrypted), so nothing downloads twice. Files are compressed before sending.

This removes your name, picture, chat list, chat keys and call history from this phone, removes your profile from every chat, and deletes your anonymous sign-in. Messages you already sent stay in their chats, still encrypted. This can't be undone.
